Homelessness (and poverty in general) are not far-away problems. They exist right here in York County. Some estimate that over 400 people in Rock Hill alone call undeveloped, wooded areas in this city their homes. For many, many reasons, it's incredibly difficult for many of them to create a more secure living arrangement.
Helping people who are in this kind of a bind is also very difficult, particularly when trying to find long-term solutions that reap exponential benefits (as opposed to short-term bandaids.) As you seek to understand and care for those who are homeless, we hope you'll find this seminar valuable. We'll have experts and organizations on hand to speak, teach, and answer questions about what each of us can do to help our neighbor in need.
