Elements

SNL has sketches. Late Night TV has bits. Nightly news has segments. Public worship - this thing where people formally gather around God's truth - tends to be subdivided as well. For the sake of communication and consideration in this series, let's call these little chunks "elements."

Reading scripture, prayer, offering, songs, art, and sacraments - these five elements (not necessarily of equal value) are just about the most basic forms we use in worship. But why? Where did they come from, and what are they good for? Good has chosen to use them, each in unique and particular ways, to serve you in public worship. Let us spend this series considering how and being deeply thankful for them each.
