 WELCOME!

Today, we’re going to talk about the special house of God called the temple.

Let’s warm up with a little music!

Our Main Verse Today

“Will God really dwell on earth? The heavens, even the highest heaven, cannot contain you.” | 1 Kings 8:27

Commit the verse to memory using this slideshow:

Solomon Builds the Temple for God

You might remember King David, the famous king who killed Goliath. He really wanted to build the temple…but God said “No.” God said it would be David’s Son, Solomon, who would build the temple. Watch the video below to see how that happened.

Let’s Review the Story

TALKING HEAD OF PASTOR

The temple was special to the people of God. It was where they could meet with God and know they were close to him.

Here’s the thing…there’s no temple anymore. It’s gone. That can seem like bad news, but it isn’t. Remember our memory verse for this week?

“Will God really dwell on earth? The heavens, even the highest heaven, cannot contain you.” | 1 Kings 8:27

God is EVERYWHERE. Not just in a temple. Not just in Jerusalem. Not just in your church building. He’s everywhere, and we can meet with him everywhere through his Word, the Bible. God promises that when we learn about him, he’s with us. He loves us, and stays with us all the time, no matter what. In fact, Jesus very last words on earth were these:

With You.jpg

Remind somebody of this truth!

Download the postcard linked here, print & cut it out, write a note on it, and give it to someone who needs to be reminded that God isn’t far away in a temple or hiding somewhere - he’s with them right now!
